MUSIK

Outside of the operatic and sacred repertoire, her love lies with chamber music. She has given numerous recitals in Germany, Italy, Belgium and in the Netherlands together with the pianist Martha Van Damme. Together they won in both 2015 and 2016 prizes in the Schmolz und Bickenbach Competition for chamber music. They were also laureates of the „Udo Reinemann International Masterclasses“ 2015/2016 and of the International Lied Festival in Zeist in 2019. As a duo they have been broadcasted by the national radio stations NPO Radio4 in the Netherlands and Rtbf Musiq3 in Belgium.
Eva is a keen ensemble singer and she performs on a regular basis with renowned chamber choirs such as CHORWERK RUHR (Florian Helgath), Vocalensemble Rastatt (Holger Speck), Kölner Vokalsolisten and RSH Vokalensemble (Timo Nuoranne, Martin Berger). As an ensemble member, she sang with conductors such as Paavo Järvi, Peter Rundel, Adam Fischer, Stephen Layton at venues such as Baden-Baden Festspielhaus, Essener Philarmonie, De Singel Antwerpen, Tonhalle Düsseldorf.
Eva is also a member of CHOREOS, a vocal and dance ensemble under the direction of Stephan Lutermann and Lars Scheibner, and in 2019 she co-founded together with former fellow students the vocal octet Rheinstimmen Ensemble, focussing on early and contemporary music. As well as a residency in Düsseldorf’s Johanneskirche, in autumn 2019 they had their debut singing the semichorus in Oper Köln’s production of Hamlet by Brett Dean.
In the last few years Eva has been a scholarship recipient from DAAD, PROMOS and Deutschlandstipendium.
The italian mezzosoprano Eva Marti is a versatile and exceptional musician, feeling at home both in operatic repertoire as well as in chamber music and oratorio.
After initially studying Set Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in her hometown Milano, Eva moved to Germany in 2013, studying at the “Robert Schumann Musikhochschule” in Düsseldorf in the class of Prof. KS Jeanne Piland and Prof. Konrad Jarnot, and obtained her Masters Degree in July 2019. During this time she furthered her development in vocal artistry through various masterclasses with renowned musicians such as Brigitte Fassbaender (vocal technique), Anne Sofie von Otter, Julius Drake, Malcom Martineau (lied interpretation), Jill Feldmann and Lavinia Bertotti (early music).
During the last few years Eva has collected a broad stage experience, singing such roles as Flora (Verdi, La Traviata), Cherubino (Mozart, Le nozze di Figaro), Fidalma (Cimarosa, Il matrimonio segreto), Cenerentola (Rossini, Cenerentola), Hermia (Britten, A Midsummer Night’s Dream), 3. Dame and Papagena (Mozart, Die Zauberflöte), Suzuki (Puccini, Madama Butterfly) at venues such as Tonhalle Düsseldorf, Stadttheater Pforzheim, Kammeroper Köln, Schlossfestspiele Zwingenberg and Goethe Theater Bad Lauchstaedt.
Eva is also very active in the sacred music repertoire. In the last years she has debuted as the alto soloist in Stabat Mater by Pergolesi, Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini, Messiah and Israel in Egypt by Handel, St John‘s Passion by Bach, Christmas Oratorio by Saint Saens and Gloria by Vivaldi amongst others.
